Senior Storytime at the Elgin Township Senior Social Café
It’s time again for the next Senior Storytime Social Hour – to be held Monday, September 18th, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
While the plan is for Seniors to meet in the Senior Social Café, we may need to move it to a different room if we get a larger attendance than last month. (Last month’s was quite popular, and we filled the Senior Social Café!) Therefore, PLEASE RSVP ASAP so that we can know how many people we need to accommodate and where!
This month’s topic is “Ways to Reduce Your Risk of Alzheimer’s or Delay its Onset”, and we will be discussing how what you eat can play a role in your risk of developing Alzheimer’s AND how keeping your mind stimulated may not prevent dementia but might delay its onset.
You’ll have an opportunity to learn about the two key markers of Alzheimer’s and the two diets that can help you reduce your risk of developing Alzheimer’s. We’ll also discuss the different types of mental activities that can help build neural networks in the brain and keep it healthy.
Light refreshments will be provided, and there will be an opportunity to socialize afterwards.
This program is presented courtesy of the Elgin Township Committee on Seniors
Elgin Township’s Senior Social Café is located on the lower level of the Elgin Township building at 729 S. McLean Blvd. in Elgin.

SEATING IS VERY LIMITED, so please RSVP at 847-741-2045 or call with any questions you may have.
