Senior Discuss & Discover at the Elgin Township Senior Social Café
Join us at the next Elgin Township Senior Discuss and Discover on Monday, December 15th, at 9:30 a.m. as the Elgin History Museum’s own speaker Linda Rock presents on LeeWards – an American crafts and fabrics retailer that was an Elgin institution for many years. It was founded in Elgin in 1947, and their holiday craft kits (especially the beaded ornaments) still decorate many homes. In fact, neighboring communities would bring busloads for shopping trips at the LeeWards flagship store in Elgin on Route 31.
Join Linda for a presentation that will explore how LeeWards went from a mail order catalog to 100 specialty craft stores nationwide. She will also share LeeWards related items from her personal collection.
ADDITIONALLY, WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO WEAR HOLIDAY ATTIRE AT THIS SPECIAL SENIOR DISCUSS AND DISCOVER EVENT!!
Please RSVP by FRIDAY, December 12th by calling 847-741-2045, as seating is limited, and light refreshments will be served.
The program starts at 9:30 a.m. and will be held at the Elgin Township Building at 729 S. McLean Blvd. in Elgin.
Please park in the back parking lot and enter through the back door, then go to the lower level via the stairs or elevator.
If you are planning on staying for the Monday Senior Lunch, that is a separate reservation.
